Class information
Albaloo Class (Parent & Me)
Albaloo class is for children 6 months to 3 years old. Parent or guardian must accompany each child during the class.
Music and movement play very important roles in helping young children learn and acquire language skills. This class provides many opportunities for children to sing, dance, play musical games, and engage in puppet shows and story telling. Children will also get a chance to explore and play tunes in traditional Persian musical instruments. Albaloo class helps children express their feelings in Persian and enriches their Persian vocabulary.
Geelas, Hooloo, and Anar Classes
These classes offer drop off programs for children ages 3 and older. Each class includes music, art and language, but program depth is tailored to each age group. In these classes we introduce the Persian language and culture through music and art. Each session follows a theme. Activities and material used in classes are chosen carefully based on the theme for each age group, and include books, games, puppets, percussion or occasional musical instruments.
We use songs and poems to focus children’s attention. The arts and crafts portion of the class is carefully designed for the children to do two things: introduce different aspects of Persian culture, and encourage their creativity and self-expression. We use a wide variety of materials, such as pastels, clay, watercolors, tempera, collage, etc.
Classes have carved out time for introduction of Persian alphabet, phonics, sight words, etc. Exact curriculum of each class and the extent to which reading or writing is emphasized is tailored to children’s readiness and age.
Lastly, we believe that Persian cuisine plays an important role in helping children appreciate their roots. That is why classes include a healthy snack, which is provided by Bahar Kids. We use snack time to also promote healthy eating habits for the children.
